Alfabia

Part of the courtyard at Alfabia near Soller. This beautiful country residence dates back to the time that the Arabs governed Mallorca before the Spanish invasion in the 13th century. Although the house was largely built in the mid 18th century parts are much older, including a ceiling in the gatehouse that dates to 1170, and it contains many ancient documents. The gardens are delightful and also show their Arab legacy with their clever use of water.
