Double Pleated Aqualegia and Aqualegia Vulgaris

I've had Aqualegias in my garden for twenty-odd years. They were probably self-seeded in the beginning. For the first time they have produced this double pleated one - obviously the result of cross-pollination. My Gardener who has a BSc. in Horticulture so must know her flowers, says they will probably revert to the original ordinary pinkish Aqualegia eventually. I have photographed them together so the difference can be seen.  I must admit I'd never heard of double pleated Aqualegias before and at first thought I had something unique.  Not so, it seems! This is a similar found on the Web!  There is also a good write-up HERE!  I have put two views of the double pleated Aqualegia as my extras.
