Drifting through life....
Is there any point in making plans?
But, Mousie, thou art no thy lane,
In proving foresight may be vain;
The best-laid schemes o' mice an 'men
Gang aft agley,
An'lea'e us nought but grief an' pain,
For promis'd joy!
A word of caution from Robert Burns there. How right he was and still is. I've always been fond of planning; looking forward to the next holiday; the next train; the bus at home time; the walk; the dinner; the pint. Maybe I'm better off drifting along. I seldom think to bring my umbrella along these days, even though it seems to be often raining.
I discovered this place when out for a walk (aimlessly of course) at the back of Ayr College. Rivers, bridges and railway arches are expected in a place like this but it was still a nice, peaceful surprise.
I could have stayed all day, but the sky was threatening and I was unprepared. Just driftin'..
