Someone's pride

and joy, probably built in the 1930s when closed, rather than open-topped cars became fashionable. The Talbot motor company was founded in 1903.

This example looked immaculate, everything shiny and reflecting. For those of you who have never known anything different, the item just above the number plate is the starting handle - to be turned by muscular arms to rotate the engine till it bursts into life.
