Waiting!

Today we went into Manchester again, to the Royal Exchange to buy some jewellery from the craft shop for presents.  The Royal exchange is a grade II listed building where cotton used to be traded till 1968.   Now it houses a theatre: a 7 sided steel and glass module that squats within the building's great hall! This modern tubular structure looks like a space ship that has landed in a hall below three glass domes and surrounded by lots of pinky marble ionic columns! The plays are done in the round with about 700  spectators

Very strong light today and most of my photos are partly overexposed but I like this one : Ro waiting for me as I go upstairs to see the photographic possibilities.  I wonder what was going through his mind! . The white bits on the floor are plaques to different people.

Last Friday we saw "Ghost train" by Arnold Ridley,  a wonderfully done production, 'blisteringly funny' as one critic said.  I loved it and would recommend it strongly! (it's on till the 20th June)
