Seashell Sculpture, Aldeburgh
This is the beautiful seashell sculpture erected on the beach at Aldeburgh in 2003 as a tribute to the life and work of Benjamin Britten who lived and worked in Aldeburgh and Snape.
It stands 4 metres high and the following words are etched along one side:
'I hear those voices that will not be drowned' which are taken from Britten's famous opera 'Peter Grimes'. This is the view taken from the side that faces the sea.
