Shadow

Artist Kaarina Kaikkonen has realised a monumental installation artwork called the Shadow to the Satakunnankatu street in Tampere. The installation was first seen in Tampere already in 1999 and this summer we were lucky to get the Shadow here again! I love it. Most probably will blip it again.

Kaarina Kaikkonen began as a painter, but has become known as a sculptor who shapes the urban landscape and makes installations emphasizing the sense of community. She is an artist best known for creating sculptural works using recycled materials, notably second-hand clothing seen in her memorable jacket installations.
