It was an itzy bitzy teenie weenie

A week ago today, we were slowly dehydrating on a beach in Southern Brittany in temperatures of 28 degrees .

The water however was as cold as the water in the West Coast of Scotland.... and in a Tarn on top of a hill in The Lake District.

After baking for an hour or so, Tooli and I decided to partake in a dip.

Oh dear.  The sand was slippy, where there wasn't sand, there were rocks, and maybe crabs?

As in The Lake District, it took me probably over 45 minutes to get up to my chest in the water in order to be deep enough to swim, but that wasn't enough - Tooli then had to splash me from a distance to get me wet and cold enough to think I might be able to go under; and then, it's always the same - once I get under I don't want to get out.
