Reflections

Up at the crack of dawn to get to Leeds for QAA annual shindig. Glorious day so walked between station and Royal Armouries both directions. Leeds has changed so much since I was there - and especially the side of the city down by the Aire. It felt very continental in the warm sun today. Generally pretty uneventful event. Talked to some nice people, listened to a bit of pondering and then home. Best part was J returning from school cricket match HAVING WON!!!!!! We're really pretty uncompetitive here but they haven't won a match for the whole of last season and this - so it was really quite a moment! He scored 36 not out - 'well happy!'. Apparently they're all owed a Macdonalds tomorrow lunch (on the teachers) who thought it so unlikely they decided to place a bet .....
