The Crested Coua Whisperer
This is a female Crested Coua (native to Madagascar) at the National Aviary in Pittsburgh, PA. She apparently does not like to go near the workers or guests. However, I did not know this until one of the Aviary workers approached me and asked how I got so close (she and I were about 18" apart from each other). I told them I didn't do anything special other than approach slowly so that I didn't scare her off. The odd part is that when I was done photographing her, she started following me around. A number of the Aviary folks came out to witness the "Crested Coua Whisperer" and asked me to share some of the pictures on their Facebook page which I fully intend to do.
