Carnation, pink

A while ago I read a book called 'The Language of flowers'.  The storyline itself was dire… but in the back of the book, there is an index of flowers… and their Victorian meaning.  I've kept the book to refer to… I just love the thought of flowers having a secret meaning/language.
Carnation, pink, (Dianthus caryophyllus) holds the meaning……. 'I will never forget you'.
