Ramblings from Zambia....

By dcafrica

early morning light....

left Lilongwe just before 5am and watched the sun rise as I drove north.  It was a cold morning and quite misty in places.  There were a lot of broken down trucks on the roads....

Arrived in Mzuzu and was supposed to have lunch with a friend who is leaving Malawi - she sent a message, she couldn't make it as a colleague had been knocked down by a car and they were at the hospital - thankfully she is okay.

Came home after work and switched on the lights - a few minutes later I was in darkness - I thought it was a power cut as that is normal here!  But all the houses around had lights, so I called ESCOM and they came out after 3 hours.  Am so thankful that they did because my main switch was about to go on fire - the wires going into it were all burnt........so they removed the fuse from the box outside and said it was safe!  Have to get a new main switch in the morning!!
