It's Grim Up North

Conishead Priory

A day out on a Friday, how's that for wild living?

Today was a much needed break from general drudgery that we were able to take because G isn't yet back at work.

We nearly ended up in Windermere in  the middle of the Great North Swim, but, thanks to synchronicity, if you believe in it, we were warned about the event by a couple we met when we were walking the dog this morning, and we wouldn't have met the couple if a friend hadn't phoned to find out how Gordon was and delayed our start.

So we diverted to a favourite pub for lunch, where we read the tourist information and then decided to visit the local Buddhist Temple to wander around the grounds and drink tea and eat cakes in an oasis of calm on their lawn.

Thank you Conishead Priory and The Wheatsheaf for being dog friendly, so that we could have a pottering day out instead of our usual energetic, dog walking days out. I've put in a formal application for more of these lazy days out.
