Rosemary Leaf Beetle
I noticed this Rosemary Leaf Beetle on a Lavender plant this afternoon and recognised it from one I'd seen last year. After consulting my Blip Year Book I found my entry of 1st July 2014 was an identical beetle. From research last year I found out that not only does it live on Rosemary leaves, but it eats the young shoots of Lavender too. My dilemma is - do I sacrifice the beetle to save the plant or let the beetle stay and lose the plant. Perhaps a bird will think it looks tasty and save me having to make a decision!!
We are in the throes of a thunderstorm at present, the lightning is very sharp and the thunder very loud and the rain is coming down in torrents. I'm so pleased I cut all the grass when I got home from work this afternoon.
