Rennes to Brest Canal

It poured for most of the day as we travelled along the north coast of Brittany before heading south west to Rostrenen where we are staying with JJ's cousin. We would have loved to have walked some of the coast but it really was heaving it down.

By the time we reached our destination the sun had come out so we set off to see the lake which EDF has drained in order to do restoration work. The river is visible as is the line of the canal, but this area is normally under hundreds of feet of water and will take months to refill next year. If you look closely there are three abandoned houses.
