Cogs

I inherited an old mantel clock some years ago, but it has never worked.  However, a colleague with an interest in timepieces (particularly watches) agreed to clean and lubricate it for me.  Now it is ticking away merrily.  Just a pity that the main spring seems to be broken or detached, so it will not run for the full 8 days as designed.

It is lovely to see the cogs and wheels of a traditional analogue clock.  There is nothing special about the movement in this clock - but I still think it is a wonder of design and manufacture.
