New Growth in the Wreckage

The man and his explorers walked for miles with the feeling of dread on their shoulders due to the selfish act of the lone explorer. The man was well aware of the feelings of his fellow explorers and his right hand man pulled him aside, "We cannot continue to act as though it never happened." The man cast a grand gaze at his right hand man, with soft, but stern words, he said, "No one has forgotten the heinous actions that were committed. However, I do not wonder if someone will walk in his shoes, I'm sure of it. The thing I am most worried about is that everyone, myself included, will not accept the deed for what it was; a blind act of power. We will not learn from the mistakes of another, and therefore, will commit them ourselves." The right hand man was surprised by the words bestowed upon him, though he knew they were true.
