Mixed Bag
Today got off to a great start with an early Skype call to my hubby, my pooch, and my ma, some sitting, some pranayama, and a quick copyediting job, all BEFORE class. After class and lunch, MM and I took a walk to the Pataleshwar cave, just 15 minutes from here, and then I had a great practice session and later went to "movie night" at Luisa's place. We were a group of six from the U.S., Russia, India, Mexico, and Germany.
The less stellar part of the day was the morning class with a teacher at the Institute (I'll refrain from naming her here) who wasn't really even supposed to be teaching but couldn't help herself from yelling out all the things she thought everyone was doing wrong. It was very bizarre. She sat in the back of the class, interrupting, yelling things out. I almost left, but then I thought, well, I can just stay and see what happens. What happened is that some students are total suck ups and go right along with this strange behavior, some get something useful out of it, and some, like me, think, "Wow. How strange."
The kids in the family sitting at the base of this amazing tree at the park near the cave each wanted their picture taken. I'm including the boy and girl in the extra photos for your added enjoyment.
