Pine Grosbeak

Dandelion seeds were the menu choice for this pine grosbeak. In fact it was almost in a feeding frenzy, and although noting my presence, it didn't seem to care.
We enjoyed a three day camping trip near the tiny former gold mining town of Hope, and this bird was right in our campsite. I took many pictures and later used a bird book to identify it. I've never seen this kind of bird in our area, and we certainly have plenty of dandelions!
