One species each day (from my backyard)
This a the underside of a Pellaea rotundifolia (Tarawera, button fern) frond showing the sori with spores. I planted one in the fern section by our front door, remembering it from when my mother had one in a flower pot in the windowsill, not knowing then that it was a native of New Zealand only. I kept this easy one for if I could really find nothing else to photograph in my backyard. I guess I was too lazy last night.
