Ferrymead Bridge....

This is me driving on the Ferrymead Bridge ( I know , you shouldn't be on your phone while driving!)
Four years ago when the big EQ struck the bridge was under small repairs, it is the main link for the road to Sumner and also important for our valley and Lyttleton. We turn right here to go up into our valley and home.
Once the EQ hit it was damaged  and so major repairs were needed, on top of the original repairs.....
Now, over 4 years on we are almost at the finished stage....it will be a 4 lane bridge, with a completely new road layout. As you can see where the huge retaining wall is being built there is a road that comes down off the hill, that will be incorporated into the new design. There used to be a house sitting where the wall is!
It has been a vision of orange road cones for so long that I think we will all be quite thrown  when we actually see a clear road and all systems operating smoothly!
