A family day out

No, this wasnt my family just a little group we saw whilst taking in the scenery at Hillhead. Strangely enough about ten minutes later they returned, apparently they had gone to wrong location for a local fishing contest.
It was my birthday but instead of going out for all the usual birthday treats such as romantic dinners or a wild party with lots of alcohol we opted for an afternoon spent by the beach at Hillhead with a picnic and walk along the beach.
This is a lovely location, which is very popular for sea fishing but only at high tide as the tide tends to go out quite a long way here, views of all the cruise liners on their way out can be had here, in actual fact one can be seen in the distance, The Anthem of the Seas I think it was Behind us lies the popular nature reserve, Titchfield Haven where the River Meon reaches the sea. There's some interesting history attached to this area as well mainly Saxon.
