A Year Through My Eyes

Home made comfort food

05.06.12

The weather forecast was pretty grim for the whole day so we went out relatively early to walk Alfie (the dog) along Omaha beach (which I can now safely say I've walked along two Omaha beaches, Normandy and New Zealand) This Omaha would appear to be home to the holiday homes of the minted Aucklanders with more money than architectural sense! Some seriously questionable multi million dollar houses!

Literally as we got back in the car the heavens opened. So we went home via the local shops and set about creating some seriously naughty but tasty comfort food.

Firstly Pam whipped up a home made curried parsnip soup, which sorted us out post walk in what felt like gale force wind. Then myself and Martin set about making ravioli from scratch, didn't realise how easy home made pasta was! Only enough for a couple each but it had been mentioned last night and so we've made it as a starter. Pam created a fish pie whilst I knocked up a treacle sponge (by request of Pam and Martins children)

Diet starts in a few days!

This blip is of the home made Ravioli.
