what we did today...

Team captain

This big boy was v chuffed to be chosen as team captain today at his Kwik cricket festival. He took it seriously and was very good at encouraging his team and making sure they were in good fielding positions. He was v chuffed too when he took 4 wickets in 2 overs. (I sound like I might know something about cricket but I don't, I just bluff well!)
His little bro had his debut game, and managed to hit some good shots and was v close to getting a wicket too. Not bad for someone who wasn't convinced he'd play as he thought it would just be big boys and had a temperature last night!
I do love Kwik cricket - kids age 5, 6, 7, 8 are so random when fielding - they'll be doing handstands, cartwheels, standing hands in pockets staring off to the distance, arms inside their jumpers or even lying down...all while supposedly fielding :-D But they are joining in and having fun, so good on them for participating!
D was awake and full of the joys of wonderful facts about sharks at 5.30am so I'm shattered this eve and will be having an early night! I have to admit to not being quite so enthralled by the facts at that time in the morning....
A is back from his Lake District running jolly this eve I may be asleep before he gets home.... Zzzzzzzzzz.....
