Long walk

Today we walked from Meldon Reservoir up to Black Tor, in this picture that's all the way up that hill in the centre of the picture and to the stones on the top on the left.

It was quite a steep climb up but that was nothing compared to the walk down. We lost sight of the footpath coming back after diverting to avoid a herd of cattle. So after wandering through very marshy boggy and rocky moor we ended up coming down an almost vertical grassy bank. On the plus side we did get to watch a most majestic marsh harrier hovering in the sky for several minutes.

Once back down safe and sound we headed over to Exeter for a bite to eat and catch up with my brother in law. All in all a very lovely day.
