Summer Roses

We rattled our way to London to see friends for dinner in husband's new toy - a very sensible land rover defender.  This is a no frills vehicle.  It doesn't even have a mirror in the visor!  He kept saying "you really have to drive this" as we bounced over every bump in the road, as though that would endear me to it. 
I was really grateful to arrive without incident and really welcomed a drink in our friends urban garden where she has created an oasis of tranquility.  She is a garden designer and her garden certainly reflects these skills.  
Apparently, these roses are quite rare.
