The Last Hare Krishna in Town

There was a time when you couldn't walk anywhere in the centre of Dublin City without hearing the bells, the drums and the chants of the members of the Hare Krishna cult. For many years they have been conspicuous by their absence. Then all of a sudden this chap turns up, seemingly out of nowhere.
I have noticed him on many occasions on my travels to the hospital when visiting my Dad. Well, today I was visiting my brother in hospital and my Dad in his own home where he is making good progress. Here was the last Hare Krishna in town, gone high tech with his electronic amplification, chanting away at the same street corner where I shot our Scottish friends the other day.
Funny thing is that just as I lined him up in the viewfinder, a small bunch of protestors wailing about the recently imposed water charges showed up. While his was a message of some kind of spiritual well being, theirs was of utter defiance against our politicians. Our politicians would not be exactly flavour of the month with me either but I thought the contrast in views of life, the universe and everything, were interesting to observe.
