another day, another bird story... nothing to do with dougal this time though. this jackdaw fell down next door's chimney, and can't fly so was grounded while its parents squawked at it from the chimney. the daft thing is young and tame so the kids were handling it and stroking it... beefy put it in a box in the shed overnight so that dougal would eat it - it was so exhausted that it fell asleep in beefy's knee while he watched a film in the cineshed. anyway - in the morning, his mum gave him a worm and a pep-talk and he flew away with her...thank god.

sad news that our lovely wee ghostly fish, fuzzbutton died after 8 years last night. poor wee thing, he was an ace wee guy who has been revived on a few occasions. didn't work this time though, he was done. he has gone from orange to see-through over the years and dougal used to drink his water but never wanted to eat him. the girls were sad, especially pegs as he was her fish really.
