Making more!
It started out overcast & cool (for a June day), so I didn’t think we would see any butterflies on the Butterfly field day at Sheskinmore led by Bob Aldwell (he & others recently published a book on The Butterflies of Donegal). A group 30 + were there for the event, we had a short talk first & then set out to look for the various species that are found in Sheskinmore. Many of the group knew lots about the orchids & other flora on the reserve & were very interesting to talk to. We headed towards a very sheltered area & were rewarded by sightings of Small Blue, Small Heath, Meadow Brown, Marsh Fritillary & Dingy Skipper (I didn’t see it).
