Burn
Broken car enforced another day at home. The grand clear out continues and today was the garage and the garden.
Why do we build these big spaces to basically hoard stuff. It's painful clearing but good for the soul as you realise you're attaching far too much to inanimate objects.
Here's one that found itself on the bonfire. My grandfather's bureau. It was nice enough but got busticated by son 2 climbing on it about 8 years ago and has lain in bits glowering at me ever since. What to do?
I went through the following process:
Is it nice? No
Is it valuable? No
What was your Grandad like? Grumpy sod always grumbling and not the warmest man on the planet
Did he ever say you'd never get a boyfriend cos you wore glasses? Yes ' boys don't make passes at girls in glasses'
Did he ever call you fat? Yes
Burn it
