Travelodge View

Today was mostly spent on the M6!
Miss K, Mrs M and I have come up to the Lake District for our annual laze about reading trashy magazines, eating loads and trawling charity shops.
Oh and the Great North Swim tomorrow!
The traffic was awful but we had fun in the car singing along loudly brilliantly to Madonna's greatest hits and then Simon Mayo's Friday request show.
Miss K rang in to request Holiday and they rang back to say she'd be on the radio next and could we pull over? Much as I wanted our five minutes of fame I decided against chancing the hard shoulder of the M6 and we had to say no. They rang back again half an hour later but we still couldn't stop. Such a shame!
But we did hear quite a few people heading to the Great North Swim. Ten thousand people in all do it over the three day event and it's very exciting to be part of it.
Eventually we made it up to the Lakes and stopped at the Services we stayed at last year for dinner. Burgers and ridiculous selfies - we're all giddy to be child free and on our road trip!!
For the last two years we've stayed at hotels at Services on the M6. This year we didn't leave it so late and actually made it into the Lake District. The Travelodge on the A591 just outside Kendal. Woohoo!!
Three beds, a kettle, a TV, hundreds of magazines, enough snacks for a week and a nice view. What more could we want?!!
