Wray Castle

Weekend at the Lake District to watch the husband do the Great North swim- 2 miles of open water swimming in Lake Windermere.
The swim went well then we walked to Ambleside to have one of my favourite things, a bath bun (like a tea cake but much more delicious, full of cherries). Then we drove up to Wray Castle which is a National Trust castle on the hill above Lake Windermere. Although it looks medieval its actually Gothic revival as it was built around 1830, so recently by castle standards. It has lovely gardens and I couldn't resist blipping this lovely blue flower.
Drove home via Alston where we stopped for a pub meal on the way :)
