My Back Yard
Late this afternoon, after another downpour of rain, I took a stroll around my back yard, anxious to see if there were any new surprises sprouting up in the back corners.
I couldn't help but marvel at how gorgeous the Trumpet Vines have become, as they were pretty sorry looking at the beginning of May. Their thick foliage is a vast contrast to the one dead branch that I left untrimmed out of fear of knocking out the birdhouse that now sits hidden amongst the leaves.
As I walked past the vines that grow up a post, I could hear baby birds chirping for their supper. "Feed us! Feed us!" The momma bird was sitting on the naked branch, staring at her home, listening to the little Chickadees cry. Shortly after I took this photo, she flew into the house to tend to her charges.
I didn't expect to be taking this picture, so it isn't as focused as I would like, but that aside, I have grown fond of the birds that live in my back yard.
