After the Ball
Visited the flower festival in Chichester Cathedral today. Wonderful flower displays, crafts in the cloisters but the most impressive part for me was the Philip Jackson exhibition in the corridor as we left the Cathedral. Mostly small bronze sculptures, could easily accommodate one in our house if we had megabucks to spare. This is today's favourite. After the Ball, 29 inches of grace and elegance in bronze with a tiny gold rim to the hat. Regular viewers of this journal will be familiar with his work, but seen within the lovely lighting of the cathedral, they are exceptional.
Philip Jackson, born Inverness 1944, now lives and works in West Sussex.
