Milestones
Will's school have a family assembly twice a term for each year, everyone brings in their certificates and the head has a little chat with them, tells them how great they are and we all clap. Then we have a little hymn, a prayer (it is that type of school) and we are free to go. Four years, 6 assemblies a year - that means today was the 24th of these (impressive, huh?). And today was the first time:
1. I remembered the event at all
2. I could go
3. Will had a certificate (Flip n Fun)
4. He consented to have anything to do with taking it in
So, it was a milestone moment, thank god I have blip to record such events. And he ended up not only with his (re-gifted) certificate but he had to go up again to get his silver attendance. We await with bated breath over the coming weeks to see if he can get the gold. The head congratulated them on their good organisational skills to be ready for school in time every day. As this was the boy who wandered into the kitchen in his pyjamas last week at 8:30 because I had forgotten to give the specific "get dressed" instruction, I laughed somewhat hollowly at this.
And he has discovered that he loves nectarines, its a big day.
And Daisy had a Maths exam. Just for the record.
