Happy Birthday Molly

It’s my birthday today and I’m 11 years old.  That’s 77 years old in human years.


Just how did I get to be sooooooo old?  I have little grey eyebrows and little grey bits down the side of my face.  And I had a play with a 2 year old collie this morning and even though I’m super speedy I didn’t manage to get the ball once.  It’s not very nice being old!

In honour of my birthday, Ann’s having a glass of wine on our very sunny sun terrace.

 Actually; nobody knows exactly how old I am (read my bio) but I was about 6/7 months old when Ann adopted me on the 16th January 2005 so she said that we would always celebrate my birthday on the 16th June.

This morning Ann wished me a very happy birthday and gave me lots of cuddles and said, ‘Molly, I’m off to work now.   You have snooze time and then this afternoon we’ll go for your walk up 'Carn Brea'   and then we’ll go to 'Pets at Home' and you can choose a present.’

Ann said I had to spend the morning deciding what I would like – toys, tasty treats or a new collar & lead.  I knew exactly what I wanted from ‘Pets at Home’.  I wanted a real live bunny!  I know that ‘Pets at Home’ sell real live bunnies because I’ve been in the shop before and there’s always loads of them running around in their play pens.

But do you know what happened?.......................  Ann came home from work and said, ‘Molly, it’s going to be too hot to leave you in the car while I go to ‘Tesco Xtra’ so I think we’ll just go down the river for your walk.’

‘Tesco Xtra’???  Who mentioned that????  Apparently we have to multi-task & do other jobs whilst doing my walk & buying my birthday pressies???

 So; we went down the river and I walked & swam for an hour and a half so that we reached our target of walking 5 miles a day.  And we didn’t go to ‘Pets at home’ so I haven’t had any pressies for my birthday yet???

But Ann’s had a glass of wine..........................  And now she’s going to have another, because apparently she has to make the most of sunny evenings on our very sunny sun terrace???  Just who’s birthday is it???

PS – I’m still going to be allowed to go to ‘Pets at Home’ to choose my birthday pressie.  ...............But I’m not allowed to have a bunny????  Why do you think that is???
