Unexpected Shout
Today we set off on passage to Troon to drop off our relief lifeboat and pick ours up. Passages are usually pretty uneventful so although I was a tad disappointed when I realised I'd forgotten the memory card for my camera (no spares amongst the crew) it wouldn't be a problem... would it?
Well, I thought not, until we got a shout off the bottom end of Arran to help find a missing man. We found him but due to his location it was easier to get him winched out by helicopter. In the picture (taken on my very basic camera phone) you can just about make out the orange Y-Boat on the shore line and two of our crew in yellow between the helicopter and the Y-Boat.
We were a little late getting to Troon, but having had a successful shout it was well worth it.
