Welcome to the Great Pennsylvania Rain Forest
For the past few summers, our Junes have been quite rainy. And so it was again this year. We've entered a wet phase where it has been raining about every day or two. And everything has greened up. It looks like a rain forest.
The red lilies in my butterfly garden have started to bloom, and the only pictures I took on this day were some photos I snapped of them in the morning, before we got in the car to drive to Harrisburg to visit my sister in the hospital. (All continued prayers and healing thoughts are appreciated.)
To get there, we drove along several rivers, for the road to Harrisburg from where I live is bordered by rivers, primarily the blue Juniata and then the mighty Susquehanna. We also got a grand tour of all of the road construction in central Pennsylvania, for about a third to a half of our trip was made through roads under construction. We were grateful for safe travels down and back.
The song to accompany this day's image is from the Badlees' album River Songs. The story is that while recording the album, the band stayed in Selinsgrove and drove to Harrisburg every day, along the Susquehanna River. Thus the name: river songs. The song I've picked is the Badlees, with Angels of Mercy.
P.S. I always include this warning when posting photos of lilies. Please keep all lilies away from cats, as lilies are deadly toxic to kitties. Be safe, don't be sorry!
