Aperture on Life

House Martins

There have always been Swallows around the farm and I have two nests in the pigsties this year but, in all the time I've lived here, I've never seen House Martins.

Mid June must be late for them to turn up. All of a sudden a couple of dozen have appeared and at least one pair appear to have chosen the eaves of my house to nest in.  Really pleased to see them as they're in decline. I will not be knocking down their nest.  I think this one is inspecting another possible nesting place as the pair I can almost guarantee will be raising young are right above the front door. They don't care that I stand there watching them.

Little things are sent to please.  :)
