The view at the end of the garden

I love the poplars at this time of year with the golden evening sunlight on them.   There is a row of them planted by the river which is just the other side of the park behind my garden.  The story goes that when the farm up on the hills beyond was given permission to have a camping site the person who owned this land at the time was so annoyed they immediately went out and planted a whole row of poplars to obscure any view of it.  These trees have grown a lot even in the 20 years I have lived here. They are also home to a large colony of jackdaws who have such a distinctive sound especially during spring and early summer evenings.

Fortunately they are some distance away… This pic was taken with 18-35mm zoom lens.
