Wide Angle Wednesday - WidWed16: Corner
Late on Parade should be the title of this one. I hope I'm not too late.
Yesterday was a visit to Lincoln Castle and the Magna Carta - one of the original copies. By the time we got home I was too bushed to do anything but sleep, so a quick selection this morning - more photos to follow (on Flickr).
This is taken from the north corner of the ramparts on the 'Wall Walk' as they now refer to it. You can see the corner of the 'Court House' which is still in use, and the red brick building is the 'Victorian Prison' now a visitor attraction. The other side of the prison (out of shot) is the Magna Carta vault which is accessible from the prison. The low building in between is the Activities Centre. In the distance you can see Lincoln Cathedral (which is almost next door - well in the same street anyway . . . ).
There is now a lift to get poor old souls like Mrs W (and yours truly) onto the wall walk, but she only made it part way round because of the multitude of steps when you get beyond where I took this shot. I had to send her back to hide behind an ice cream van, and then struggle on round the rest of the way by myself.
Many thanks to osuzanna for hosting WidWed this month, and to Hobbs for dreaming it up.
