Another baby
Babies everywhere here! Baby groundhogs, sparrows, rabbits and flycatchers. And today this less-cute baby was laying next to my foot (!) in the lab (!). The pencil is for scaling. Not to worry, it turns out to be a Eastern Milk Snake. So-called, because they used to be often seen in barns where they live to catch mice (explains its visit to the field lab) and the farmers thought they fed on milk of the cows in the barns.
