All Change

A very boring blip for most people but this week has been all about changing vehicles, part exchanging, buying and scrapping. Mark has part exchanged his Mondeo for a BMW Estate of some sorts. He seems very pleased with it despite the fact it is white (which is not so bad),  but the interior is what I would call Baby**** Brown. Its just one big computer and the frightening thing is, well a few things. It doesn't have a key (well I suppose you can't lose them) and if you have been static for more than a few minutes - it switches off, then back on again when you are ready to go! I wonder if it cooks dinner?.

Daughter India has a Toyota Hiace, a sort of self made camper van. It had to go in the garage and unfortunately it looks like somebody has contaminated the fuel with paint stripper which has rendered the fuel pump useless. £1000 new fuel pump, £600 to repair. You can't get them reconditioned due to export market. And if you do in 1997 they swopped over mid year to a different type of fuel pump. I spent three days looking on all the sites and tracked two down but they were the other type. So it looks as if the Hiace is going. Apparently they are still well sort after even with problems.

I have just bought an oldish but very low mileage and good condition Renault Kangoo which transports everything but the dog hates it. She likes her little dog tent in the back of the little car. It is far too roomy and rattly for her. It is very basic, simple no cupboards or catches but cubby holes and shelves. It even has an electric winch and ramp if needed. Driving position is perfect for me which is just as well as it won't alter, Its automatic which we all like in our family, they are just so easy. We have had them for years. And it is quite powerful and has two space saving sliding doors (which you get Yan in one and she jumps out of the other) and it has a huge pull up back door which serves as a rain shelter/sunshade - should you need such a thing. Out of all these current vehicles I enjoy driving the Renault. I imagine I am riding through a poppy field in France with a picnic on the back seat and it is glorious weather.

Must get around to selling one!
