from the Pont de la Concorde

This was taken on my way to meet two colleagues for coffee this morning. It was great to see them and get caught up. I heard a very good lecture on Annie Ernaux afterwards... I really love her work and this talk confirmed for me what a masterpiece Les Années is. If you haven't read it yet, I highly recommend it.

Then I got some Hungarian money for Th and worked in the salle ovale at the BnF Richelieu. We took the kids out for couscous tonight. They all ate well and it was a lot of fun. We let T stay up until 10pm to see the Eiffel Tower sparkle but the days are getting so long that it wasn't dark enough for it to put on its show until 11pm, and that's just a little too late.
