Scenes from everyday life

My First Digital Camera

Sunday 26 April 1998 was the day I bought my first digital camera.

A primitive Fuji point-and-shoot costing about £250,  it would fit about 20 low resolution shots onto a card format that is now unsupported by any modern computer and used a pair of AA batteries that also lasted about 20 shots.

It was fun but hardly practical. The price you pay for being an early adopter.

This was one of my first shots. The Red Lion in Whitehall, with spectators from the day's London Marathon spilling out onto the pavement.
