Loch Leven Castle

Having lived so close to this area for so long, I don't know why it's taken us so long to pay a visit.

A good day out for 3/4 of the family (one opted out). A stroll along the loch side, spot of lunch at the Boathouse Cafe, then a short boat ride over to the island in the middle of the Loch where Mary, Queen of Scots, spent some of her life imprisoned. It was amazing to stand at the very window where she had prayed.

We also visited Loch Leven's Larder, rather late in the day. They have an amusing display of pants on the wall there, onto which has been painted "sometimes the weather here is just pants". That was a close contender for
my blip today.
