The Chapel of Chimes
While my daughter was having her hair cut she told us to have a walk around the Chapel of Chimes in Oakland. A columbarium, this is a really wonderful place for the dead. Lots of shelves with book like containers for their ashes. First built in 1909 it was redesigned in 1928 by the architect Julia Morgan. She helped to build Hearst Castle.
A moorish and Gothic inspired building a maze of rooms with staircases and statues and fountains.
It was getting a bit hot so we went to Fentons for ice cream /milk shakes! They have the most delicious ice cream!
In the evening we went to see our daughter in a football match! 1:1 then unfortunately/or maybe fortunately they lost on penalties. It's a shorter version of match only 45 minutes all told plus 5 mins each way before the penalties! Loved it!
