A Midsummer Night's Dinner
I don't have a garden so I hijacked the public gazebo down on the riverside and decorated it with flags, flowers and fairy lights and with some friends had a lovely dinner party. It was pretty well perfect, we had ducks with ducklings on the river, horses clopping past, swifts and swallows whizzing about, blackbirds serenading us and a brand new moon; what more could you want? Well the food turned out well and the company was great. add a few bottles of wine and some fizz and I think we can say that midsummer was well and truly celebrated.Didn't need to light the candles until 10p.m....love the light nights. I still miss the lovely light Scottish nights.
Pity I didn't think about all the logistics involved in shifting a dinner party from the kitchen down to the river and packing it all up in the dark. Did manage to load it all into the car without any mishaps and then abandoned the car and walked home. A really pleasant evening.
