Wildlife Service Area
After being released from Raigmore I decided that it made sense to head slowly back south (and to reschedule my Wester Ross photos to a later date).
My overnight stop was at Annandale Water Services, which could also pass for a wildlife reserve - in a 20 minute walk I saw deer, heron, mallard, swans, moorhen, sparrows, chaffinch, and (of course) oystercatchers. I’m not sure what the collective noun for oystercatchers is, but there were times when they were well able to drown out the sound of the traffic on the A74(M).
