Helicopters

I thought from a distance that these dark patches were birds' nests, but it is actually a sycamore tree and these are the seeds which flutter to the ground in autumn.  As children we called them helicopters.  Seeing how they grow in bunches like this, it's no wonder we have so many seedlings in the garden that need to be pulled out often.
